But you have to ask yourself didn’t Apple know that a major upgrade in Catalina was going to make future upgrades very hard to complete on a 128gb hd even when using external drives? I hope this helps someone. I’ll never make a mistake in buying such a thing again. I can’t believe how bad my 2017 was and is. I really do think of this 2015 as a sort of upgrade. The improvements on the 2021 were so tempting, but I know I need to save up for it.

Found out it could have been fixed for free if it was a particular serial number that had a known issue. Now setting that 2017 aside and getting a 2015 would have been the right move, but no I paid to fix it. Recently the battery maxed out on cycles and it had to be replaced. If I were to get just the 14” with the specs I personally want on a 2021, The price is $2700 - $3000. It’s not ideal to get an older model, but it’s so much more cheaper to buy the older one. There are upgrades that really can be made when going from a newer model with say a small 128 Gb SSD, 8Gb Memory, two USB-C thunderbolt ports, i5 chip. Please compare it to other older models like it’s the last model before the severe cutdown on ports.
